Trends in Digital Marketing for 2019
A new year often brings new hopes and ambitions and if you’re hoping to grow your business in 2019, then you’ll probably be wondering what marketing trends are going to be running the show next year.
Eyes down for a quick round up!
Artificial intelligence
AI is set to collect data on consumer behaviour and from social media platforms, blog posts and searches, then analyse it to help businesses to understand their customers and audiences.
AI also comes in the form of chatbots, which, while not new, are expected to offer 25% of customer service by 2020, up from a mere 2% in 2017.
AI advertising
Programmatic advertising is when AI decides on and executes the buying of ads, helping you to target specific demographics. Automating the process makes it all faster and more efficient, which reduces costs and increases conversion rates.
More personalisation
Despite the encroachment of AI, people want personalised emails and content. AI actually makes this easier as customer behaviour, buying history and so on helps businesses to hit home. If customers have to spend less time navigating to their favouritesand have likely new prospects dangled in front of them, from TV shows to nail varnishes, their engagement grows.
More video marketing
More than72% of businesses say that videos improve their conversion rates and more than half of all customers say that watching product videos makes them trust the brand more.
Live videos are becoming more popular, especially if they show viewers life behind the counter or front desk, for example.
Visual searches
These searches allow users to upload an image of, say, a pair of trousers to do a search. The results tell them the nearest shop they’re in, how much they are and (if the retailer knows its onions, offer a small discount).
Voice searches
It’s thought that half of all searches will be voice searches by 2020. At present, 20% of mobile searches are by voice, so businesses need to adapt their strategies. Voice recognition is only going to get smarter, so there’ll be fewer annoying Alexa misunderstandings and chances are that before long we’ll be hearing from her “sponsors”.
