We often receive emails from clients concerned with what Google has told them in their PageSpeed Insights. We often listen when Google tells us something, but it can be misleading. Whilst a perfect score on PageSpeed Insights is nice, it’s important to be aware that this is a measure of elements that contribute to a faster speed. But it’s not the entire story.
Speed, i.e the loading time of your site is the most important metric along with its perceived performance. Perceived performance is the measure of how fast a user feels your website is. These two metrics are what counts for user experience and for SEO. When the Google bot crawls your site, it cannot see your “grade”, only your speed.
