Google AdWords make you an instant hit
There’s a lot of misconceptions about AdWords, with many people thinking it’s too expensive or pointless. However, it’s actually one of the best tools a business can use for online marketing, and here’s six reasons why:
Your ad targets people who actually want your product
Everyone wants to be on Google’s first page. The problem is competing with the heavy-hitting SEO experts who get their clients in the top ten, every time. Google AdWords gives you an advantage over organic SEO so that your service in your town is right there in front of customers’ eyes.
It can be localised
Using AdWords means you can target particular locations – towns, counties and even countries, saving you money on ad campaigns. You can exclude certain regions too, which increases your ROI by targeting your catchment area. You can even target income bands!
Combine Google Places and AdWords
Using Google Places with AdWords allows you to show a map and a picture of your physical shop (if you have one). Seeing your doorway makes people more likely to walk through it.
Display your contact info in your strapline
Ad extensions mean you can include your phone number, app downloads, reviews and so on below your ad’s strapline. If a customer immediately sees your number, he’s more likely to call.
Ad extensions don’t cost extra, but any phone calls or clickthroughs are billable. But hey – a phone call probably means business, right?
You can retarget interested customers
We’ve all noticed how, after visiting a commercial site, we continue to get their adverts. This is because the site leaves a cookie that allows your ads to follow them on Google. This costs extra, but it really increases conversion – someone was already interested, after all, so they might just need a nudge.
You can decide how much you spend
You can set a budget for each ad you use, and change it as necessary. If one ad does really well, spend more per day on it. Start with a budget of £10 to £15 a day, so that you have enough action to be able to judge it properly.
