GA4 Properties Now Have Google Search Console Insights
Google Search Console Insights now supports Google Analytics 4 properties, allowing you to access more information.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) properties are now compatible with Search Console Insights, thanks to an update that went live today.
Search Console Insights provides a comprehensive overview of how people discover your content across the web by combining data from Search Console and Google Analytics.
Search Console Insights has only been compatible with Universal Analytics (UA) properties since its launch in June 2021. If all you had were GA4 properties, your Search Console Insights section would have been pretty bare.
However, it was only a matter of time before GA4 support was added, as Google is retiring UA properties next year.
Making Use of Search Console Insights
There are several ways to get to Search Console Insights. You can access it by using:
- A button near the top of the Overview page
- From Google’s mobile app’s navigation menu
- Search Google for a query that your site ranks for.
Search Console Insights is available without Google Analytics, but linking the two will provide you with more data.
Data Analysis in Search Console Insights
GSC Insights was created by Google to provide a snapshot of recent content performance. It only displays GA data for the most recent 28 days, which is sometimes compared to the previous 28-day period.
As a result, it’s a good idea to check GSC Insights on a regular basis because the data is frequently updated.
If you own a GA4 property and don’t see any data in the Insights section after today’s update, here are some possible explanations:
Your GSC property is unrelated to a GA property. You do not have enough permissions on GA. In GSC, you have the incorrect GA view selected.
