…and Can Offer a Great Return on Investment!
Reports of the death of email marketing seem to have been greatly exaggerated, according to a recent State of Marketing Report. Email is definitely here to stay, despite the huge upsurge in B2B and B2C social media and mobile marketing, in fact it dovetails quite nicely in many cases.
Emails work best when used regularly
It seems that building up an email relationship and maintaining a dialogue with customers is what works best. Almost three quarters of marketers said, in the report survey, that email marketing is a mainstay of their business.
Additionally, 60 percent of marketers claim that email is an important source of business, up from 42 per cent in 2014. Around 20 per cent say that email is actually their main source of business. Three quarters of marketers are confident that email campaigns will produce a decent return on investment.
Email has to go mobile
Lots more people access their emails through their mobile devices now, and if you want your emails to work for you, make sure they’re as mobile-optimised as your new website! If your email reading rates are falling, pay attention to how they look on a small screen = make sure your subject lines are attention grabbing, otherwise you’ll just get swiped.
Optimise, optimise, optimise
As well as good-looking subject lines, your emails should render well on smaller screens so that people want to read them. It’s finally sinking into marketers’ heads, but still less than one quarter use optimised email design. It’s time for your business to get ahead of the curve.
Some emails are better than others
To make a successful email campaign, businesses need first and foremost to pay attention to the content and design, followed by the look of the template and finally the spelling, punctuation and grammar in the content.
Give them a reason to subscribe
Gain more valuable subscribers by offering something in return for their email address. A free giveaway or coupon usually does the trick. And ensure that your subscribe box is in a very prominent position on your website and social channels.
Strong call-to-action
Make sure it is super easy for customers to act on your email. A clear, simple call-to-action text with button at the foot of the email is essential.
